I was half-afraid that he’s be slightly arrogant because of the Pulitzer, but I think it made him even more real. I LOVED how he would revert to ghetto Dominican isms at different periods during the discussion.

Definitely getting Drown. A lot of people have recommended it.

Ginny, you should totally do a literary analysis/cultural discussion on Junot Diaz and his work for the next Club of Rome. :-) *no pressure* lol…

I met Diaz in 2003 when he came and spoke in a seminar class I was taking as an undergrad. He is amazing. I am currently apply to grad school and using Drown as the topic for my sample paper. I also taught the short story “Boyfriend” in one of the classes I taught last year. Students loved it too.
