Lemon, Cayenne & Maple Syrup

Surprisingly, they taste pretty good together.  I’m on Day 1 of the Master Cleanse… well actually Morning 1.  It’s been a mere 4 hours, since I woke up, realized that it was 6:30 a.fucking.m. and forced myself to drink a quart of salt water flush (it makes you poo) and sat there waiting to… you [...]

Blood splatter

The wetness started to soak into my dress. It would swipe my leg as I walked, leaving indentations of red, like a signature. Hurry! The wound started to flood with blood, a deep red ink about to expose my secret at any moment.
There was already someone in the bathroom when I walked in. I scuttle [...]

Worldwide Fat Equality Campaign

[I'm the one on the right, in case it's not completely obvious that Marie isn't anywhere close to the fat-zone.]
.
I’m going to start the official Worldwide Fat Equality Campaign.  Being fat is like having lung cancer.  People automatically assume that it’s your fault and don’t feel any respect.  They’re allowed to pick on you and [...]

Kitteh at Five Months

When I first got Mon Petit Coeur, she hated posing for photos.  I guess she’s gotten more used to this random flat contraption that makes sounds and is shoved right in front of her face.  I didn’t even have to photoshop these.

.

She looks like an awkward teenager, almost.  Still very adorable, but now [...]

Prodding, Provoking & Manupilation

My love affair with Junot Diaz has largely depended on fate and faith.
I’ve mentioned him a couple of times before. A Pulitzer prize winning author of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Diaz fell into my existence at the tiny bookstore in the Ferry Building.  After an early October dinner with the visiting parents, [...]

No One Likes Ike…

UPDATE:  Here are pictures from the other house.  Apparently, my parents have already cleaned up over there, but ….ddddaaaayyyymmmmm, that’s a lot of branches.

To give you some perspective, I’m about 5′6″ (okay 5′ 5 1/2″) and if I stood right in front of all that debris & branches, it would go higher than my head.

Holy [...]

Ike, You Bastard~

[It's a bit ironic that I posted so many pictures of the interior, but the first photo of outside my house is this.]
.
I’ve tried to stay away from writing too much about Ike recently.  Partially because I don’t want to jinx anything for my parents.  Mostly because I’ve been watching the 24-hour live coverage too [...]

Furnishing accessories

I’ve been going home a lot this year.  And the major reason is that my parents built a new house, and my pet project is go to and help them decorate it.
During my last trip, we managed to get all the furniture in order.  About half the furnishings will come from the old [...]

Bringing home a gold…

Most of us may think that the Olympics 2008 are over and done with.  China brought home a tremendous number of golds (51, by far outbeating the next runner up, US who had 36).  Barring a scandal over CG fireworks, a lipsync and the lack of food at the arenas, everything went smoothly.  Even the [...]

Alcohol is My Friend

Perhaps that statement isn’t quite so true, but with all the activities during TechCrunch50, you wouldn’t really be able to tell the difference.
I have to admit I really need to start bringing my Canon Powershot (and beg for a Nikon SDR for Christmas – I’ve been really goood this year!).  The one above is taken [...]
