Furnishing is expensive!

Seriously, I just landed last night in Houston for an extended Labor Day weekend with the parents. Today, we went to BBB (Bed, Bath & Beyond) to pick up a few accessories for my bathroom, like a cup, soap dish, etc.  The total: over $120 just for 2 cups, 1 toothbrush holder, 2 soap dishes, [...]

Something About a Beanstalk

People who blog know that it’s a lot of work. So I’m taking this entry to shirk my responsibilities and just write in a stream of consciousness manner.

Two years out of college (okay, 2 years and 3 months but don’t tell anyone), I’ve gained some insight on life, a sense of what I might [...]

Making My Ears Bleed

My friend (err whose URL I can’t find right now) was telling me that having just moved from the east coast, BART makes his ears bleed, and I should invest in some non-iPhone-standard earphones.  The ones he uses are pretty much ear plugs with a hole in the center, allowing the music to flow in.  [...]

Sketchy

Apart from going out a lot, working and having a precious few hours a day to play with my kitteh, there hasn’t been much time to blog this week, which sucks cuz life happens to be so interesting right now.
In the interim, I found this spectacular site by Andrea Joseph, who works wonders with just [...]

Oh, I’ll manga you all right.

Last week, something really disturbing happened.  I was online reading my Tumblr dashboard, usually the first place I hear all relevant news, when I came across yet another avatar builder.  So I clicked and built it… didn’t think anything of it and went to bed.

By the very next day, like 4 of my coworkers’ Twitter [...]

Sh*t I like 8.08

Yessssssir. It’s another edition of Sh*t I like. As I’m browsing through the internets reading some of my favorite design blogs and listening to IED (internet enthusiasts daily for those of you ‘not in the know’), here are some of my favorites- which if I bought would completely make my dream house look [...]

Innovation is the New Black

Originally posted on Slice.

About two years out of college, I’ve started attending panels and discussions. There’s so much to be learned, and with marketing and communications moving at such a fast pace, I realized that my education has just begun. Surprisingly, I’m enjoying the quest.
Last night’s panel at Swissnex, a forum dedicated to connecting Swiss [...]

You’re not pretty and you can’t sing!

In case you’ve been out camping and eating granola, there was a pretty significant scandal about the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. The most adorable little girl,  Lin Miaoke,  in a beautiful bright red dress [...]

Shoppers Beware.

I do quite a bit of online shopping.  The fact is, against my better judgment, I probably spend anywhere from $1,000-5,000 on clothes every year.  To some that may seem like 10 decent outfits; to others enough money to dress the entire family.
Point is, I have a lot of experience.  Amazon, eBay, Nordstroms, Hautelook.com, gilt.com, [...]
