My Dream Bedroom

Over six weeks ago, I went home to help my parents move into their brand spanking, built from the ground up house. It’s a spectacular 4 bedroom, 1 entertainment room, 1 family room, 1 study, 1 morning room plus all the other amenities house. A.k.a. great for bragging, a pain in the ass for [...]

Yikes! Taking a Closer Look

The concepts “transparency” and “joining the conversation” are being so overused these days that companies often forget the purpose: embracing their consumers and creating a real relationship.
Here are examples of how one company, RealNetworks, embodies the essence of these cliches and how one company, Uhaul, forgot about the crucial second part: doing what you said [...]

We Are All Scientists

“The best scientist is open to experience and begins with romance - the idea that anything is possible.”
— Ray Bradbury

I attend Toastmasters meetings every two weeks. The purpose of the international organization is to support members with public speaking, eloquence and impromptu speaking opportunities.

Happy Birfffday!

I’m officially 24. It’s a bit scary, not just thinking about my own mortality but also the fact that I can’t act like a 4 year old anymore. Using my youth/naivety as an excuse is going away.
If last year’s birthday theme (and it turns out year) was about debauchery, then I want this year [...]

Ridiculous Bag Addiction

Okay, obviously, I’m a consumer and shopaholic, but paying $6,000 for a bag is RIDICULOUS!  Even if it WAS retailing for $16,000.  Who has $16,000 to spend on ONE bag?  It’s a BAG.  You can buy a CAR with $16,000.
There’s a limit to which a rational human being shouldn’t ever cross for luxury goods.  I [...]

Copious Amounts of Shopping

I’ve bought a lot of thing recently.  I mean a lot.
Everything is a bit hectic at the moment, and the fact that I’m not in a stable relationship makes me feel like I don’t have a base to lean on at the end of the day.  … Hence, I shop.
From Mon Petit Coeur to the [...]

Introducing Mon Petit Coeur

I finally decided on a name for my new kitteh.  So from now on, her full name will be Mon Petit Coeur, which in English translates into my little heart.  Because really, she’s like my baby, and I love the way she lets me kiss her nose- a week ago, she would barely let me [...]

Sh*t I like 7.08

Hello… welcome.. blah blah blah

Summer is a time for dinner parties… FUN dinner parties. Outside, inside, themed, etc. So for your next dinner party, make it a tie dinner party.
.

… and where better on a cheery summer day than outside with a full service shed/bar. Raining? Not a problem, just close [...]

Duct Tape Not Included

Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die is my favorite recent read, and I’ve read a bunch in the last few weeks.

Word of Mouth Marketing by Andy Sernovitz explains how to spread ideas, while Once You’re Lucky, Twice You’re Good by Sarah Lacy tells the fall/rise of Web 1.0 and 2.0 through [...]
