There’s still the need for furniture and little decorative accessories, but we finally finished the walls and the floor and the electrical outlets in the last two weeks. Of course by we, I mean Oscar and his team of hired electrician, floor guy and helpers and sometimes me standing around trying to look busy. 
This is the official front door. The actual door will be replaced and the stairs on the left lead to the kitchen and the rest of the house. Look at the pretty wood floors!!!

Oscar’s so cute. We were basically done, and he’s taking the painter’s tape off the floors, stairs and walls. Don’t you love the white trim around the door and ceiling?

The bed goes here, right below the window so if I ever get the chance to sleep over the sun will slowly warm my face. I so miss having windows face outside like I did at Penn.

The stairs, the bathroom (which also has the floor redone) and the alcove under for the entertainment system. The alcove will have shelves for books, CDs, DVDs, appliances, etc. Once everything’s done, and Oscar’s not working a second job trying to remodel the place, I think he’s going to strip the latex from those wood blocks and paint them. I have some ideas, and Julija was suggesting some cool paint spills too.

More of under the entertainment system and the wall where the TV will be mounted. Supposedly, it’ll swing out so it can face the couch, which will be to the left in this photo, or face the bed, which is towards the viewer.

We painted three freakin’ colors. I think there was about 3-4 primer coats and about 3 color coats! Then Oscar had to fix all the spots where we used the wrong color paint or it leaked through.
BTW, I can’t freakin’ believe he had me pick a color (any color) and bought 5 gallons of it at Home Depot without telling me what furniture he was going to buy… and then paints it three colors b/c his gay designer told him to. But then, I’m just happy he’s finally done, and I can sleep over when I don’t feel like walking up my damn hill. Besides, now he (or rather I) have all this extra paint for some other project.

I’ll try to remember to take pictures tomorrow when the furniture arrives!! And then over the weekend, electronics and finishing touches! YaY!!!
